Rs. 2.5 million fraud at foreign employment bureau

(June 03,Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Foreign Employment Bureau has begun an extensive investigation into the irregularity of a sum of Rs. 2.5 million that had taken place when purchasing air tickets for the bureau.

“The investigation has been handed over to the Presidential Special Investigations Unit,” said Kingley Ranawaka, Chairman of the Bureau.

He said that preliminary investigations had confirmed that a fraud had taken place during the purchasing of air tickets and added that an internal investigation was also carried out into the irregularity. -Sri Lanka Guardian
