Tigers activities are now restricted for 1.5 sq. kms( May 16, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Swarnam and Shasi master, two senior LTTE seniors were killed during confrontations ensued with security forces at Vellamullivaikkal, today (May 16) morning, said Military Spokesperson Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara.
Soosapillai Joshep Anthony alias Swarnam, born in April 1964 in Trincomalee. according to available information, was a senior leader of the organization.
Mithiran Selvarathnam alias Sashi Master, believed to be around 40 years when he was killed by the troops, was in charge of mapping and surveying section of the LTTE organization.Speaking to Sri Lanka Guardian Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara said, “remaining LTTE cadres including Prabakaran, Pottu Amman, Nadesan & Soosai and their activities are now restricted for 1.5 sq. kms”.
"Over an estimated number of 25,000 hostages are now being rescued by the 59 and 58 Divisions troops in last 24 hours," he added. According to military, the hostages have breached through the LTTE inner cordon leaving terrorists in total disarray. -Sri Lanka Guardian
