(May 15, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Security forces of the 58 and 59 divisions are heading from southern and northern areas and would link sealing off the Mullaithivu coastal line. Troops only need to advance 1.5 kilometres to seal off the entire coastal line.
Meanwhile,At least 3,765 civilians escaped from the LTTE controlled area since Thursday as President Mahinda Rajapaksa declared that all civilians will be rescued in the next 48 hours, officials said.
President made the declaration when he met with the Sri Lankan community in Jordan during his current visit, the Department of Information said.
Brig Udaya Nanayakkara said that more civilians were expected to come out within the day.
