Prabhakaran may have escaped: army

(May 18, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) LTTE chief V. Prabhakaran may have escaped along with other senior leaders following a massive suicide attack on the army's frontline 53 Division on Sunday evening, highly reliable source of Sri Lanka Army  told the Sri Lanka Guardian short while ago.

The attack took place near the Nanthikadal lagoon and created a breach through which Prabhakaran, intelligence chief Pottu Amman and Sea Tigers leader Col Soosai may have escaped. They are believed to be hiding in the Welioya jungles in Mullaittivu. In the suicide attack, 15  soldiers died as 17 LTTE cadre blew themselves up.
