
Before step on the Sri Lankan soil, the President paid tribute to his motherland by placing his forehead on the ground and worshiping the land he has liberated from terrorism. Up on his arrival, he has been blesses by Buddhist, Catholic, Hindu and Muslim priests at the Bandaranayike International Air Port.
Addressing a special ceremony held at the airport this morning to welcome the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, "religious dignitaries of Buddhist, Hindu, Islam and Catholic religions asked President to forge unity among communities and so that the threat of another war would not lurk." -Sri Lanka Guardian
