(April 07, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Sixty-four complaints have been reported with regard to incidents related to election violence and incidents of election laws being violated in the run up to the Western Provincial Council polls, says the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CAFFE), an election monitoring body.
“The majority of these complaints have been reported from Colombo and Gampaha districts,” said Keerthi Tennekoon, media coordinator for CAFFE.
Meanwhile, the National Polls Observation Centre said that 66 complaints of election violence had been reported in the run up to the polls.
