Rev. Jesse Jackson does a Desmond Tutu

(April 03, Melbourne, Sri Lanka Guardian) Last year Rev Desmond Tutu pleaded for UN intervention in Sri Lanka for human rights violation and canvassing to oust Sri Lanka from UJ Human Rights Council. This was his plea “ Sir, We call upon the UK Government to press for an urgent Security Council resolution on the situation in northern Sri Lanka, with the view to dispatching a fact-finding mission there under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General, in furtherance of the Security Council’s primary responsibility under the Charter of the United Nations for the maintenance of international peace and security” Unquote. He further said in attempt appease LTTE terrorists ““With a terrible record of torture and disappearance, Sri Lanka doesn’t deserve a seat on the UN human right council.”

However, he got a belly full of protests on his statements supporting LTTE terrorists from peace loving Sri Lankan all over the world. Now Rev Jesse Jackson (JJ) the so-called Americas leading civil rights activist has caught Desmond Tutu’s decease. Rev Jesse Jackson addressing a Tamil Diaspora propaganda in London supporting LTTE terrorists alleged to have said that “the global community has a moral obligation to stop the killings” in Sri Lanka. Addressing a Tamil Diaspora propaganda conference that has blood in their hands in supporting LTTE over three decades, surely he did not imply LTTE when he mentioned killings in Sri Lanka but he meant the Sri Lankan Government. He has failed or conveniently avoided to utter a word against atrocities committed by Tamil Tigers like forcibly keeping the Tamil civilians using them as human shield, using children as cannon fodder, training Tamil men and women by force to take up arms to fight on the front lines, gunning down fleeing Tamil civilians from the clutches of LTTE, sending suicide women bombers to welfare camps and killing many innocent civilians and the list goes on. He is either totally ignorant of Sri Lanka’s actual situation or conveniently avoiding to put any blame on the LTTE terrorists thus parroting LTTE terrorist version or what comes up as LTTE websites without verifying the veracity of facts. His credibility and integrity is questionable to majority Sri Lankans when he makes irresponsible statements of this nature.

I have a very pertinent question to Rev JJand that is who financed your airfare and accommodation in London? Suffice to mention here that LTTE has bought over many UK, USA, Canada, EU and Australian politicians to speak for their cause and capable buying anyone.

Sri Lankans had some respect for Rev Desmond Tutu and Rev.Jesse Jackson as well balanced duo of prudence and wise enough to differentiate oranges from apples. But, now we have lost all that respect to both of them. What we can see and feel is that two black Christians are conspiring against majority Sinhala Buddhist Sri Lanka. Its crying shame that the so called America’s leading civil rights activist JJ is demanding Sri Lankan government for a ceasefire in an attempt to give badly needed oxygen to dying LTTE. Does he know that LTTE cadres including leader Prabhakaran are hiding behind Tamil civilians and using them as human shield (even UN agencies operating in Sri Lanka and Mr. John Holmes who recently visited on a fact finding mission confirms this fact); Does he know that LTTE has built bunkers where ordinary Tamil civilians live to attack the armed forces? Does he know that our armed forces had to sacrifice many soldiers in vain in order to avoid civil causalities? Does he know that if not for LTTE’s strategy of using Tamil people as human shield, our armed forces would have completely wiped off LTTE by now. So, his call for a ceasefire at this point is a BIG JOKE. The Sri Lankan Government and President Mahinda Rajpaksa is so strong and will not listen to every Tom, Dick and Harry for a ceasefire but will certainly continue until the last LTTE cadre is killed.

In a CBS TV interview, Rev JJ murmured to the Interviewer during Obama campaign , “I wanna cut his nuts off” referring to Barrack Obama (refer Utube). Well, what can we say to you Rev Jesse Jackson?
