(April 17, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The murder case of veteran journalist Lasantha Wicrematunga was taken up for hearing again at the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court yesterday.The suspect, who had been detained and remanded on the charges of stealing the mobile phone belonging to Mr. Wickrematunga was produced before court.
Meanwhile, the Mirihana police submitted a report in connection with the murder to the court.
Mount Lavinia Chief Magistrate and Additional District Court Judge Harsha Sethunga ordered the suspect to be further remanded until April 30 when the case would be taken up again. -Sri Lanka Guardian
