(April 24,Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Heavy fighting was reported between troops and LTTE cadres in the southern part of the no fire zone last night as the number of civilians leaving the area dropped, military officials said.
No details of the fighting was available immediately.
Despite the fighting some 300 civilians entered the government controlled area today. The figures were comparatively less than the the previous three days.
On Thursday 2,934 people arrived in the government controlled area raising the number of civilians who left the area since Monday to 178,648. -Sri Lanka Guardian
