(March 26, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Samples of bakery products, brought to Colombo from Trincomalee in connection with the food poisoning, will be submitted to the Medical Research Institute (MRI) today.After the completion of the investigation, more details would be disclosed on the issue, said Dr. Palitha Mahipala, deputy director general of public health.
“According to the district health director, district health officers had already commenced investigations into the matter and they suspect that the person who died of food poisoning had consumed an egg bun,” said Dr. Mahipala.
He added that the findings of the health officials were also included in the report compiled by the specialist doctor from the Ministry of Health who was dispatched to Trincomalee.-Sri Lanka Guardian
