Confession by Prabhakaran to Tamil Diaspora

(March 28, Melbourne, Sri Lanka Guardian) I am thankful and grateful to my Tamil Diaspora for having trust on me and supported me and my LTTE for the last 26 years. I am grateful to you for financially, logistically and in propaganda supporting LTTE over the past 26 years. If not for your support my gang would have been just a rag tag outfit. It is your unstinted support in every way that made LTTE financially powerful than a corporate giant and rag tag into a conventional army. When comparing with other terrorist groups ours is the only one who had a fleet of commercial ships ( 6 ships were bombed and sunk by bloody armed forces), variety of businesses and shop fronts in many parts of the world for our various activities.


The Singala chauvinists and some so called experts on terrorism makes false statements to the effect that we are involved in illegal activities like procuring illegal arms, smuggling narcotics and human cargo etc. In our struggle, there is nothing called illegal. FBI branded my LTTE the deadliest and ruthless terrorist outfit in the world and I am proud of that being the sole owner of LTTE outfit and I am sure you are also proud of it because it was you who made it happen. It’s with your strategies and your skills that helped LTTE to procure arms legal or illegal is subjective including heavy artillery, latest war technology and communication systems, smuggling assembly plants for light air crafts, mini submarines, suicide sea scooters and you name it we had it. It’s the very dollar and sterling pound that forcibly collected and or voluntary given that made our LTTE to fight the Sri Lankan Government for a separate Eelam for you and me and for the future Tamil generation for 26 long years.

I must specifically thank the Tamil Diaspora who were directly involved in buying politicians, State officials, Officials in influential human rights organizations and VIPs in many countries to speak for our cause. You did that job well and I would plead you to continue the good work. I’ll be a bastard if I don’t specially thank Mr. Eric Solheim of Norway and the Norway government and Mr. Ranil Wickemasinghe for initiating the CFA, demarcating borders for LTTE controlled areas by Ranil, exposing us the spy list of the infamous Athurugiriya Intelligence unit which I finally dealt with and you know how. Thanks for CFA which Tamil Diaspora is also responsible for working on that where we could smuggle all types of war machinery and materials, sophisticated communication equipments, heavy artillery, light aircrafts and mini submarines in parts in parts. The help we received from the then government officials in the aviation Dept and Customs is gratefully acknowledged as it helped us to consolidate our war position during the CFA was in operation with all the sophisticated weaponry.

It’s true that I had to eliminate all my Tamil opponents, politicians, liberal Tamil leadership. I had to do it as Tamil political podiyans cannot tell me what to do when fighting against well established Sri Lankan governments. I strongly believed that in my fight to achieve Eelam, I should get all these potential political leaders eliminated and also Singala politicians like President Premadasa, former Ministers Gamini Dissanayake, Lalith Athulathmudali and many others. But I put the blame to some of my top ranking LTTE cadres and intelligence units for failing to get Sarath Fonseka, that man Gotabaya and that Dravidian traitor Douglas Devananda who escaped death from our suicide bombers six times or may be more as I can’t keep a count of my orders to kill.

However, I made THREE BIG mistakes in my fight for Eelam. The assassination of Indian Premier Rajiv Gandhi was the first mistake though I don’t have any remorse like annan Balasingham. The second mistake was rejection of the offer made to me by then President Chandrika Bandaranaike to run the North and East provinces for ten years. The third mistake is miscalculating Mahinda Rajapaksa. If not for these three mistakes, you and I would be enjoying Eelam now.

Your Funds

I am happy that you never questioned as to what happened to the millions of dollars sent to rehabilitate Tamil refugees because you have no right to question me. You all are enjoying the comfort of rich countries with big houses, luxury cars, and good education to your children because of me. If I didn’t kill those 13 soldiers in Jaffna, you all will be still struggling in various parts of Sri Lanka to meet days end. So it was me who opened that opportunity for each and every one of the Tamil Diaspora who sought refugee in western countries after 1983 and you must be ever grateful to me for that. I must acknowledge the generosity shown to my Tamil Diaspora by countries like Canada, UK, USA, Norway, Sweden, France, Australia even though the majority who fled Sri Lanka and sought refuge were not from the North or East but from rich and middle classes families in the South mainly from Wellawatte, Kotahena, Bambalapitiya . In a liberation war, one will not waste time looking after the welfare of the people and that will be the last thing a good leader will think of.

With the funds you have been collecting over the years, I have turned Killinochchi and Mulaithivu into two big modern towns with big buildings and infrastructure, Of course a few luxury bunkers for me with all modern conveniences like air conditioning, sleek cars and 4wds, plasma TVs and all that which I richly deserve.. After all, I am sure that you as the Tamil Diaspora will not grudge for having few luxuries by me. So all that money came to my secretariat as donations for Tsunami, and other welfare donations from countries and humanitarian organisations, I had to use it for the Eealm Towns instead of spending on the Tamil civilians under my control.

However, things did not turn up the way that you and I wanted. My annan Balsingham would rise from the grave and kill me if he sees the present plight of LTTE. However I hope my guru annan Balsingham and his wife Adele who was once the leader of my women suicide squad would pardon me for the mess I have made which once a powerful armed force than some of the countries .

Dear Tamil Diaspora,

Time has come to say good bye to my LTTE which was once the most powerful liberation unit with, ships, aircrafts, submarines, fat bank balances, legal and illegal flourishing businesses, Narcotics dealings, money laundering. The days are near that I’ll have to run for my life which I never dreamt of. I was dreaming of a maharajah in Eelam and even dreaming of conquering Tamil Nadu when the time is right.. But I underestimated President Rajapakse and the new commanders of the government forces and that short man Gotabhaya. My Eelam dream is about to collapse and I don’t think Pottu Amman can continue to fight even if he saves his life. My only hope is to save my British educated son Charles Anthony so that he can take my place to continue to fight for an Eelam.

I know that I promised you Tamil Eelam’ and with that great hope that you started supporting LTTE financially, logistically and politically with your fabulous network of propaganda and lobbying. But finally I got you nothing. At this last moment of my life (I have nightmares seeing the fate Iraq President Sadam Hussein) I am still scared to bite the cyanide pill. I beg forgiveness from all those young people both men women and children who bit the cyanide pill for an Eelam that could not be achieved. I also plead forgiveness from my dear Tamil Diaspora who also has blood in your hands just as mine as without your help I wouldn’t have been able to come so far. LTTE is doomed; my vision is doomed; your propaganda is doomed as the international community has lost faith on us as I am as last resort using hapless Tamil civilians as human shield to save my life, my son’s life and lives of the LTTE top rank.

I owe an unconditional apology to my Tamil Diaspora for disappointing you for not achieving Eelam ( it’s you who wanted an Eelam and not the ordinary Tamils in Sri Lanka), letting down in front of the international community your dignity and credibility and the thousands of Tamil lives lost for the unachievable Eelam.
