(February 15, Batticaloa, Sri Lanka Guardian) Parliamentarian Vinayagamurthy Muralitharan (Karuna) has taken steps to find solutions to the immediate needs of residents in Verukal, Eechilampatru and Muttur East.The Tamil MP also held talks with senior government officials and military leaders in the Eechilampatru on urgent issues facing the people in these areas. The meeting was held at Sri Shenbaka Maha Vidyalayam (school).
A large number of residents attended the meeting where they highlighted their grievances such as teacher shortages, power supply problems and curbs on fishing.
