(February 05, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) which helped patients to relocated from the Pudukudirippu hospital have now set up the medical facilities at a location known as Puthumalan closer to the coastal area, a spokesperson for the organisation said today.
Some 300 patients and the medical staff were relocated on Wednesday, spokesperson Sarasi Wijeratne said.
She said that one of the problems encountered in the area was that there was insufficient drinking water.
Meanwhile reports from the north said that hundreds of other families are also moving in the direction towards the new location where the hospital has been set up.
The new location is north east of Pudukudirippu.-Sri Lanka Guardian
