International coup d’tat against Sri Lanka

(February 10, Melbourne, Sri Lanka Guardian) There is an international coup d’tat against the Sri Lankan Government to stop its war operations against the Tamil Tiger Terrorists with the sole intention of giving LTTE a breathing space. The first operation of this international conspiracy was prompted by a joint statement by Tokyo Co –Chairs (TCC) which included Norway, Japan, US an EU.

We appreciate the fact Tokyo- Co-Chairs are concerned of the hapless Tamil civilians trapped in LTTE areas and asking LTTE to disarm and release the civilians forcibly trapped by them. But in the same tone, they are proposing the Govt and LTTE to agree for a temporary “No-fire Zone” and that’s where the hidden conspiracy lies. The infamous Cease Fire Agreement (CFA) in 2002 proposed by the same countries and signed by the western puppet PM Ranil Wickremasinghe ignoring even then President Chandrika Bandaranaike and now the same countries propagating “No Fire Zone”. But there is small hitch. Isn’t it a subtle attempt to inject oxygen to debilitating LTTE knowing very well that LTTE will never heed to TCCs request when all past requests made even by UNO on various issues including conscription of children to their child brigade were ignored by LTTE. Who is fooling whom? Not the Government of Sri Lanka anymore. As she has bitter experience when CFA was in operation. The TCC who in 2002 accepted that LTTE as the sole representative of Tamils (that’s why they wanted GoSL to negotitate with LTTE and not with the other Tamil democratic parties) now asking the LTTE to release the civilians forcibly retained by them.

LTTE was asked by the UN, its affiliated Agencies like UNICEF and some of the International Communities to stop conscription of children but LTTE paid no heed to those requests and continued until today. The latest being in Chalai (4 February) as reported, a 14 year old girl with suicide kit tied to her body has appeared in Tiger defenses and started walking towards the Security Forces defenses and when a soldier who had asked her to stop, the girl had exploded her suicide kit killing herself and causing injuries to the soldier. Thus a major catastrophe was avoided of timely action by this brave soldier.

So if TCC thinks that LTTE will listen to them and disarm them, they must be day dreaming. However, a person with an iota of intelligence will understand that the ulterior motive behind the request for a NFZ nothing but to give the LTTE terrorists oxygen to consolidate themselves to fight the last ditch.

According to reports from the war front, LTTE even used the 48 hour period given by the Government by relaxing their operations to facilitate the civilians to move to safety Zone area, to plan to regain a small area in Chalai captured by the forces. It was reported that four truck loads with explosives with suicide bombers were driving towards the forces when the forces took timely action in exploding them thus avoiding another major catastrophe to our forces.

Yesterday (9/2/2009) at least 30 people including 20 soldiers and ten civilians were killed and 64 including 40 civilians injured when a woman, who had arrived with a group of displaced people, blew herself up at a receiving centre for displaced at Sugandarapuram in Vishvamadu, the military said.

Imagine if we allow a NFZ even temporarily what would be the situation. If NFZ is allowed, LTTE will fight with all their might to recapture the lost territory and instead of forging ahead with the final assault which is now limited to 132 square meters, the armed forces may have to use their full strength to retain the captured territory. Thus, I see this as an international coup d’tat by few interested countries among the International community to give oxygen to dying LTTE to keep it alive . Some western countries of the International community aims to balkanize Sri Lanka into ethnic enclaves and thereby destabilize the South Asian Pacific Region as well. This is amply proved further when the western world including Mexico andJapan started screaming thro their embassies asking GoSL to call for a ceasefire. And countries like South Africa and Ireland and so called humanitarian organizations like HRW and AI have joined this band wagon. Surely there are much more spectacular things are happening between Israel and Gaza and why not focus on that?

Adding insult to injury, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and British FM David Milliband have also joined the band wagon. The irony of this is that these countries in the international Community ask both parties i.e the perpetrators which is LTTE and the Government who is protecting the civilians to ensure the safety of the civilians which makes a mockery.

It is appropriate to remind here that during Hillary Clinton’s election campaign, she received funds from LTTE fronts operating in States but when Sri Lankans patriots from all over the world started bombarding her with Emails lodging protests, she advised her election campaigner to refuse those LTTE funds and to return. Another LTTE front in States called “Tamils for Obama” is also alleged to have funded Obama election campaign but he was unmoved and no action appears to have taken to return the money despite a similar protests was launched like that of Hillary Clinton. So the ultimate conclusion is that MONEY TALKS and most of the politicians, INGOS are appeared to have been firmly trapped by filthily rich LTTE with dollars and sterling pounds. These so called countries in the international community are not hesitant to parrot the LTTE propaganda by saying the GoSL current operations have killed many Tamil civilians and even shelled hospitals etc. which are blatant lies. As mentioned above, yesterday’s suicide bombing by an LTTE woman inside a IDP registration office have killed 30 and wounded over 60 innocent Tamils.

As it is, there appears a concerted effort by a few countries of the international community and some INGOs which I would call an international coup d’tat to stop armed forces forging ahead for the final assault on LTTE to capture remaining territory of around 132 square kms to end the scourge of LTTE terrorism. Government is well aware of the wolves in sheeps’ clothing in the international community.
