(February 26, New Delhi, Sri Lanka Guardian) Maintaining that LTTE was a proscribed organisation, Congress today ruled out lifting the ban on the outfit, saying the party's position has not changed."LTTE is a banned and proscribed organisation...Our position has not changed," party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters here.
Asked whether the government was thinking of lifting the ban to enable dialogue between the outfit and Sri Lankan government, he said, "this is bizarre, a hypothetical question".
He said that there was no inhibition on the part of the Sri Lankan government to talk to the outfit. -Sri Lanka Guardian
