What is wrong in calling a spade a spade?

(December 13, Melbourne, Sri Lanka Guardian) Tamil Nadu Chief Karunanidhi has got outraged for calling some Tamil Nadu politicians who work in hand in glove with the LTTE including Vaiko and Nadumaran a set of “Jokers” by Army Chief Lt. General Sarath Fonseka and wants an apology from the Sri Lankan Government as it’s a derogatory statement on TN politicians. What’s wrong in calling a spade a spade? When the Tamil Nadu politicians along with Sri Lanka’s TNA MPs gallivant round the big cities in the world and spread the message charging the tri forces with genocide of Tamils, do you expect the army chief to keep his mouth shut? say He has been very modest in calling them “jokers”. I would rather call them as “CLOWNS” in the Tamil Nadu political circus.

LTTE Tamil Tiger Terrorists breached the first ceasefire (CFA) more than three thousand times. They used the CFA as a breathing space to consolidate their military strengths, update their communication system with the state of art communication system thro Norwegian diplomacy, established an air wing by smuggling light air crafts dismantled, increased the conscription of innocent Tamil children as child soldiers, dispatching suicide bombers to the South, increasing their fleet of ships with enhancing their illegal activities like drug trafficking, gun running and procuring illegal arms, only to name a few advantages LTTE gained from CFA. Now that LTTE is in the edge of loosing their strong hold Killinochchi and Mullaithivu and loosing the against Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu politicians have got panicked and want to give LTTE a breathing space again. Towards this, the Tamil Nadu politicians are asking the centre government to force Sri Lanka to agree for a ceasefire with LTTE. Will a sovereign government with iota of sense and responsibility towards its citizens agree to this? No wonder our Army chief called these buffoons “Jokers”. If the PM accedes to this request, he will also be qualified to be belonged to the same category.

Karunanidhi and his TN political gang are also outraged for the fact that Army Chief Lt. General Sarath Fonseka has mentioned that quote pro-LTTE politicians in Tamil Nadu, who seem to be in the LTTE pay-roll unquote. They should not get offended for this if they are clean. Of course, if the cap fits their heads, put them on. Buying politicians is not an arduous task for financially strong LTTE, thanks for the Tamil Diaspora who have been raising funds up to $300 million a year (as per Janes Intelligence reports) on the pretext of humanitarian grounds for the Tamils in the North and East. LTTE has bought over a few US congressmen, even one ex US attorney general, UK Parliamentarians, politicians in Norway, South Africa, bigwigs of various world known humanitarian organizations and even Sri Lankan politicians. We do not deny the fact that LTTE was capable even in placing some army officers in LTTE’s payroll. The behavior and Media Releases of some bigwigs of INGOs and NGOs in Sri Lanka implies that they are being well looked after by LTTE financially. Hence, politicians getting trapped in LTTE’s financial web no matter what country is , would not be a surprise.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as a sensible and courageous leader and statesman. He should categorically reject Karunandhi and his LTTE affiliates politicians request for Ceasefire with the GoSL and LTTE. If he gives into Tamil Nadu’s request to appease LTTE, instead of nipping the bud of a cancerous terrorist fungus now gradually growing in Tamil Nadu political body, he may have to face a cry of Eelam emanating from Tamil Nadu also.(12/11)
