"We are neither part of LTTE nor the Government"

(December 02, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The runners of the defense website www.defense.lk should know that I am neither part of LTTE nor the government but part of the democratic opposition of Sri Lankan parliament. The tantrums of the Defense web runners are obvious. I am portrayed as a separatist. This web is there to discredit all those parties who are not part of the government. It sheds mud on all those in the spheres of politics, media and civil society who do not follow the government agenda blindly. These tantrums would not break me. I am for the unity in diversity of Sri Lanka. I am second to none in my care and love for my country Sri Lanka said DPF Leader Mano Ganesan MP in a statement issued from his office. The statement further says,

Two news posts have appeared in the official website of the Sri Lankan ministry of defense on my visit to Canada. There are many inaccuracies and contradictions in and between both posts of Nov 20th and Nov 27th. Both posts speak of a ‘LTTE sponsored meeting’ at Oshawa University in Canada on November 18th. The fist post of Nov 20th says that the ‘meeting’ was cancelled. And the second post of Nov 27th says that this ‘meeting’ underwent on a low profile.

On Nov 18th, the date of the so called ‘meeting’, I was in fact engaged with Canadian foreign ministry officials in Ottawa. It is an indisputable fact because of the involvement of the Canadian officials in the discussion with me at the foreign ministry building in Ottawa. Unfortunately for the runners of defense website they never had any prior information of my engagements in Ottawa. This is why they blundered with the date and made themselves a laughing stock in the eyes of the Canadian officials and Sri Lankans here and in Canada.

The truth is that I was with Canadian officials in the morning and was with Hon. Wayne Marston MP in the evening of Nov 18th. Both meetings being pre arranged by Canadian Forum for Justice and Peace in Sri Lanka prior to my arrival in Canada. Defense web fabricators are now finding it hard to digest the truth. They are distressed and shattered. Unable to control their desperation, they again upload rubbish material in this website run by the taxpayer’s money. And again they declare their intentions of dishonesty and stupidity.

The second post very reluctantly accepts the fact by saying that “The day Mr. Ganesan was planning to talk at the University of Oshuwa he MIGHT have talks with Canadian officials in Ottawa..” And they go on saying that “(Mr. Ganesan’s) sponsors may have arranged another quick meeting with NDP MP for the evening, who has his office in the SAME BLOCK.” All my meetings with Canadian foreign ministry officials and Parliamentarian were arranged prior to my visit to Canada.

Not knowing what to write and where to end Sri Lanka Defense web has pulled the good names of Canadian MP Hon. Wayne Marston, Sri Lankan MP Hon. Jayalath Jayawardena, NLF Leader Dr. Vickramabahu Karunaratne, CFJPSL Co-Convener Mr. Sellathurai Loganathan and his Sinhalese wife (Mrs. Sumana Loganathan), Prof. Cheran, FMM chairman Sunanda Deshapriya, Popular Sinhala Dramatist Parakrama Niriella and Mr. Amity Jinadasa in this false news story.

The final highlight of this conmen is the photograph appears with the defense web story. The photograph confirms the desperation. In the picture I am addressing a meeting where a LTTE uniformed man stands along with many others. There is a LTTE emblem on the wall. Is it one from the so called LTTE meetings I attended in Canada as the defense web tries to say? It cannot be Canada because I cannot wear a simple shirt during this Canadian winter. But the web carries this photo very cunningly without giving correct explanations to it to fool any or some unsuspecting innocent viewers. We are aware that this as a ‘cut and paste’ doctored photograph. They have taken my photo elsewhere and inserted it in a photo of a LTTE meeting.

The problem of the Defense web is obvious. This web is there to discredit all those parties who are not part of the government. It is now well exposed. It sheds mud on all those in the spheres of politics, media and civil society who do not follow the government agenda blindly. These tantrums would not break me. I am for the unity in diversity of Sri Lanka. I am second to none in my care and love for my country Sri Lanka.
