Bogol’s appointments are political and fanatical – as alleged by SLFSA

(December 17, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Dr. Godage , a retired Officer of the Diplomatic service filed a fundamental rights petition in the Supreme Court yesterday (16 Dec) , against Foreign affairs Minister Bogollagama objecting to his appointments to the SL Diplomatic missions abroad.

The application filed in the public interest challenged the appointments on the grounds that neither the Cabinet nor the PSC are eligible to make the appointments under article 33 c of the constitution.

Meanwhile , the Sri Lanka Foreign Service association stated, the Minister’s appointments were haphazard and political without recognition of merit and efficiency. These appointments are being made so rapidly they fear the whole service would end in disaster They have therefore asked for an urgent meeting with the President. - Sri Lanka Guardian
