Seeman, Mani lodged in central jail



(December 20, Chennai, Sri Laanka Guardian) Tamil film director Seeman and Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhakam president, Kolathur Mani, who were arrested on Friday for their inflamatory speeches recently in Erode allegedly in support of LTTE and its leader V Prabhakaran, were lodged in the Central Jail late last night, police said.

They were produced in the judicial magistrate court in Erode on Friday amidst tight security and remanded till December 31.

Seeman and Mani were charged under IPC sections 13(1)b, prevention of unlawful activities act 1967 and 505 (creating rumours against the State and Army), police said. - Sri Lanka Guardian
