(December 17, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Minister Mervyn de Silva today aggreed to pay MTV/Sirasa cameraman Rs. 750,000 as compensation when a Fundamental Rights petition filed by the cameraman was taken up by the the Supreme court today.
The minister assaulted the cameraman and snatched the equipment when he was recording events connected with the opening of the flyover bridge at Kelaniya few months back. - Sri Lanka Guardian
