(November 01, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) The South Indian Artiste's Association on Saturday observed a day-long fast against killings of Sri Lankan Tamils in the ongoing Army offensive in the northern parts of the Island nation.
South Indian actors Nepolean, Satyaraj, Vijay, Arjun, Pasupathi and Manorama, led by the Association's president R Sarath Kumar, observed the fast, which began this morning.
The programme was organised to express the Association's solidarity with Tamils living in Sri Lanka and support them, Sarath Kumar told reporters at Chennai.
Hoping that normalcy will return in Sri Lanka soon, Kumar said it is good that the Centre and state governments have already started taking steps to find an amicable solution on the matter. - Sri Lanka Guardian
