‘Solve issue through dialogue’

(November 20, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) The ethnic issue in Sri lanka can be resolved only through dialogues between the warring factions, former Prime Minister and Leader of the UNP, Ranil Wickramasinghe today said.

Addressing media persons at Chennai airport, Wickramasinghe, said, ‘I had discussed the issue with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee. The Lankan authorities should ensure that Tamil get adequate food and clothing in strife-torn regions.’

He said the issue can be resolved only through negotiations.

The opposition parties should be invited for dialogue to solve the issue by the Lankan government, he added. - Sri Lanka Guardian
