(November 10, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) One of the Colombo based weekend news paper said that the LTTE leader Velupillai Prabaharan was disabled, for this claim they had stated that a photograph carried in the leading tamil website www.puthinam.com early this week shows a wheelchair by the side of the LTTE Leader.
But according to the reliable sources in Vanni, that wheelchair belongs to the LTTE international communication unit head Mr Manivannan alias Castro, who was injured and paralysed in Elephantpass battle in 1991. The careful vision of that picture shows Castro was in that chair.
Velupillai Pirapaharan, the leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil eelam (LTTE), on 1st of November conferred Awards of Valour for Tiger commandos who excelled in their performance in the LTTE operation against the Sri Lankan Forces Vanni Headquarters and the LTTE Air Force pilots and operators who took part in consecutive and successful flight operations of attack against the targets in the South and the bases of the Sri Lankan armed forces.
Several commanders of the LTTE and senior officials took part in the event, at an undisclosed venue in Vanni. - Sri Lanka Guardian
