(November 17, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) Majority of political parties such as the ruling DMK, AIADMK, Congress, BJP, DMDK, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and DK refrained from an all- party meeting organised by the CPI to discuss on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue.
Even the CPI-M, a close ‘comrade’ of the CPI, did not take part.
Those who had participated reciprocating to the call of the Communist party’s State secretary D Pandian include PMK president G K Mani, MDMK leaders K S Radhakrishnan and Mallai Sathya, Tamil Nationalist Movement chief Pazha Nedumaran, Nationalist Congress leader Dindivanam Ramamurthy, Latchiya Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president Vijaya T Rajendar and Pudhiya Thamizhagam leader K Krishnasamy.
It is to be noted that Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi said on Sunday that his party would not participate in the all-party meeting of the CPI over the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, as they had made their stand clear in the party executive and also through the resolution at the all-party meeting.- Sri Lanka Guardian
