Majority of parties keeps off CPI meet

(November 17, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian)
Majority of political parties such as the ruling DMK, AIADMK, Congress, BJP, DMDK, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and DK refrained from an all- party meeting organised by the CPI to discuss on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue.

Even the CPI-M, a close ‘comrade’ of the CPI, did not take part.

Those who had participated reciprocating to the call of the Communist party’s State secretary D Pandian include PMK president G K Mani, MDMK leaders K S Radhakrishnan and Mallai Sathya, Tamil Nationalist Movement chief Pazha Nedumaran, Nationalist Congress leader Dindivanam Ramamurthy, Latchiya Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president Vijaya T Rajendar and Pudhiya Thamizhagam leader K Krishnasamy.

It is to be noted that Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi said on Sunday that his party would not participate in the all-party meeting of the CPI over the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, as they had made their stand clear in the party executive and also through the resolution at the all-party meeting.
