Tigers Treat People Like Dogs

by I. Victor

(October 27, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The thumbnail picture appearing in your article “Anti-Indian protests to be held in the East” showing a dog dancing to the tune of its trainer has perfect relevance to the way in which the LTTE treats Tamil civilians in the North and earlier, in the East. What your picture does not show is the gun in the controller’s hand to kill the dog in case it does not like the tune.

The truth is that the Tigers have lost control and are in sad circumstance. They are afraid of that truth and are now sadly lost in an articulation of untruth. But you cannot fool people. Not all the time, and particularly when you have crushed them underfoot.

Mahinda Rajapaksa or Douglas Devananda is the crippled excuse the Tigers trot out whenever the Tamil people seek to display their democratic right. This is an exercise that is futile and insulting to the intelligence of the most simple-minded Tamil human being, or any other human being.

Every statement, every utterance, every writing by Rajapaksa and Devananda has shown nothing other than care and concern for India’s genuine anxiety about the predicament of innocent Tamil civilians, bullied and butchered for despairing decades by the world’s most wicked terrorists.

India knows the truth. All of India. That is why the LTTE is running scared. That is why they have thought up a new mantra and chant “Mahinda, Devananda, India”. You know the end is near when evil believes its own lies.

The Tamil people are yearning for democracy. They are coming out to say this now. They will keep doing so until the long night ends.

Who let the dogs out? The Tigers did.
