Need To Be Cautious Of Tamil Diaspora

" I wish to express my love and gratitude to you for your past participation in the building of our nation, bringing together your abundant intellectual, material, monetary and many other resources in the service of our nation and ask that you stand with us in the coming years of our freedom struggle.."

by Dr. Daya Hewapathirane

(October 06, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) One should not overlook the fact that, the overwhelming majority of Sri Lankan Tamils living overseas, were providing all possible assistance, both directly and indirectly, using all possible deceitful means, to this ruthless Tamil murderer Prabakaran and his terror movement for over two decades.

They who assisted him to carry out the most gruesome, hideous and horrifying terrorist activities against our people, our leaders including Bhikkhus and our men and women of the military forces and police.

They who provided assistance to bomb and destroy historic sites of great repute in our country, and other public property of value.

They who initiated various forms of actions to disrepute our nation overseas, and to undermine the legitimately elected government of our country.

Our heroic military personnel who were making untold sacrifices to protect our people and the territorial integrity of our country were subject to extreme forms of indignity, insult and disgrace by these Tamils, using most deceitful and dishonest accusations.

Our illustrious national culture and our Buddhist Sangha community responsible for nurturing, promoting and uplifting this outstanding indigenous culture and the Sinhala language for some two thousand three hundred years, were subject to debase and disrespect by these treacherous Tamil racists and extremists, following their barbarous and maniac leader.

Using the international media and other means, these overseas Tamil extremists were involved openly in a widespread campaign, using the basest forms of falsehoods and blatant lies of unimaginable proportions, to demean, discredit and destroy the good image of our country.

It was just last year, on November 27, 2007 to be exact, that this racist terrorist maniac Prabakaran acknowledged publicly the overflowingly abundant assistance he was receiving from these overseas Tamils. In his special public speech to Tamils living abroad, which was given wide publicity by his international and national stooges, he said that -

" I wish to express my love and gratitude to you for your past participation in the building of our nation, bringing together your abundant intellectual, material, monetary and many other resources in the service of our nation and ask that you stand with us in the coming years of our freedom struggle..".

Now that their racist terrorist ship is sinking, it appears that a good number of these same overseas racist Tamils, and their stooges and promoters of Tamil terrorism are stating that the Tamils everywhere should distance themselves from their former "savior and warrior" - this racist terrorist monster Prabakaran, and his campaign of murder that they once supported vigorously. In fact, it is amusing to see that some of them have even formed new organizations to express their displeasure and disapproval of the racist LTTE activities and calling Tamils to leave the Kilinochchi region.

This seems to be a strange turn of events. This change of heart appears to be way too sudden. We should not be misled to believe that this change of attitude is one that is genuine and reliable. We need to be very cautious of what these fellows say and do in the days to come. This can be another of those devious strategies and tactics of these treacherous "wolfs in sheeps clothing".

Having observed and experienced what they have done in North America during the past two decades, I am suspicious of this somewhat sudden change of attitude in some quarters of the overseas Tamil community. For some, perhaps, it may be a means of their trying to save face and avoid humiliation in the light of the inevitable triumph of our legitimate national struggle to eliminate Tamil terrorism once and for all. They may be convinced that it is a loosing battle for them, and that they have no choice but to distance themselves from the losers. Often proven to be a community that is a lot introvert, some of these fellows may have changed for their own individual selfish benefits.

We have nothing against anyone who wishes to shed extremist feelings and joining us to build a nation which is peaceful and prosperous, a nation which shuns extremism and terrorism and where democracy prevails, and a nation led by bold, patriotic and compassionate persons, who will not permit racism and terrorism to ever raise their heads in our land. We want all the non-indigenous minorities of our nation, whatever label they may hold, to join us to build one nation, a nation founded on the noble principles of non-violence, tolerance, compassion, where peaceful co-habitation is the cornerstone.
