Mano to attend EC’s Human Rights Conference at Brussels

(October 04, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) European Commission has invited Civil Monitoring Commission Convener and Western Peoples Front Leader Mano Ganesan MP to participate in the conference titled “60 years of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights: the defenders take the floor ". This will take place at the European Parliament, Brussels on 7th and 8th October 2008.

Colombo district parliamentarian Ganesan when asked said that he will be traveling to Brussels early next week where he will be participating in discussions to improve the human rights conditions in Sri Lanka. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navanethem Pillay and President of European Parliament Mr Hans-Gert Pöttering are expected to participate along with many European parliamentarians and international human rights defenders. - Sri Lanka Guardian
