Lankan youth caught with fake credit cards

(October 24, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) A Sri Lankan youth, who was involved in a fake credit card scam to the tune of Rs two lakh, has been arrested by the police.
According to police, Dilip Kumar, a bank employee, lodged a complaint with Chennai Suburban Police Commissioner stating that someone had used his credit card to buy a cellphone worth Rs 25,000 from a shop at Madipakkam on the outskirts of the city.
Meanwhile, the accused person had tried to use the fake credit card another time to buy a cellphone from a shop at Tambaram. The shopkeeper, on suspicion, asked him to wait till he could verify the card. Sensing danger, the accused gave him the slip.
Acting on a complaint from Dilip, a special Cyber Crime police team was formed to investigate and arrested Senthuram (27) of Hindu Colony at Madipakkam.
Enquiries revealed that Senthuram was involved in getting the details of the credit cards from foreign countries and used to prepare fake ones. He had allegedly bought 10 cellphone worth Rs 2 lakh, it was revealed. - Sri Lanka Guardian
