Granny wants Prabhakaran to disappear from the face of the earth!

(October 20, Kilinochchi, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Visuvamadu Mammoty Brigade is ready to welcome Lt General Sarath Fonseka and join forces with him to clean up Wanni of all the Tigers. They are ready with their lists and some even have records of children these terror agents of Prabhakaran pulled out of their homes to enlist in their forces. Some of the children were as young as eleven and twelve years old, boys and girls

That is not the only brigade. Over there in Odduchuddan one is named after yours truly, Catapult Thangavelu Snipers. Naturally we were amused, even more the snipers had no idea about yours truly. They talked to us as if they knew him as their bosom pal who had visited their homes and had pittu and manioc curry. They also remember Punchi Puli acca with great affection. As a qualified midwife, she had delivered many babies in that area. They know that she has gone to some country in Europe.

They hardly suspected our own Poorani acca is her successor in our team. We cannot reveal much about her because her early teen years were a horrendous experience in the hands of Tiger bullies. They think she is one of the maveerars(Great Heroes) lying buried in one of the many graveyards, the LTTE’s biggest achievement. That was some twelve years ago and she fled in a paddy transport truck. Now a volunteer from one the new Tamil homelands of the Tamils, Poorani acca will soon make a big name in the courts of that country. She is our Portia seeking justice with mercy, a quality that drops as a gentle rain from the heavens.

No doubt inspired by a Clint Eastwood movie, just like the Man in the Eternal Hole, another group closer to the Iranamadu Tank has vowed to hang the Tiger bullies one by one. Calling themselves “Hang them High Nine” they have geared themselves to throw a rope around a high branch and hang every Tiger who had bullied the young people during the last few years. Just like the Visuvamadu Mammoty Brigade, the Hang them High Nine too have their lists and they have already planned their course of action.

One of the Hang them High Nine guys told us over plain tea and ulunthu vadai that all these years they were helpless to do anything. There were LTTE agents in government departments well oiled to pass information to the Tigers. Some innocent people became victims of these characters who used this chance to pay off private animosities. The LTTE chaps were ruthless beyond our wildest imagination and compared to them, western gangsters about whom we read, are angels.

Sithamparapillai archi is a very old dear but her emotional wounds are too deep. The Tigers have literally wiped off her family. She lives on the kindness of others and she deserves a lot more because she is a great strength to her neighbours who are also grieving over the family members the LTTE has laid to waste. An elder who was with us when she told us about her morning duty, reacted saying: “Athu nadakkam, Archi athu surukku nadakkam; Pillaiyar anay athu nadakkum” (That will happen, Granny that will soon happen; I vow to God Ganesha that will happen.) We were touched very profoundly by the feelings of the elder person. We also felt how the people of Wanni must want the Tiger plague to be wiped out. We have not the slightest doubt about it.

People of Wanni want to go back to their farms and resume their normal, useful and productive lives despite having lost great many young people. The LTTE presence has been utterly devastating. We were also told that many young university volunteers who had come to Wanni from overseas have opted to stay back and in some cases forced to forget their homes and parents. The LTTE brainwashing has been so much some of them really became slaves to it and saw in Prabhakaran a great deliverer of their destiny.

One name that figured prominently among some of these volunteers was a person called David Poopalapillai evidently from Canada. He appears to have been a person who persuaded a number of young people to get to Wanni some four or five years ago. We made our inquiries about him and found that he originally came from the Eastern Province and he will never be able to go back there again in his life.

On the promise of helping some people to get to Canada as aliens and seek refuge there, he is said to have enriched himself a great deal and then disappeared from Sri Lanka. Recently, his name was mentioned as one of the guys involved with the US $1000 a day US attorney who is even prepared to take Jesus Christ before the Grand Jury in the United States if the Tamil Diaspora will pay him good fees. This guy is said to have deserted his client Tamils for Justice and set up his own Justice for Tamils with some North American Tamil expatriates. He has, we suppose given up on the Rajapakse brothers and Lt General Sarath Fonseka.

North America unfortunately has too many Tiger Funds Scoundrels who have used the LTTE identity to great advantage. They have now holed themselves and are believed to be praying to the Devils of Hades, Kallicharan and Kuddichathan for Prabhakaran’s quick demise and the end of the LTTE so that they can keep whatever they have collected for the “Final War” and that’s how they canvassed funds from the tame and naïve Tamil community.

Among the more informed Wanni folks, the names of the Tamil Diaspora LTTE pretenders are well known. They too have lists of them and have begun to consider how they could be exposed and even brought before courts on the charge of committing crimes against humanity. May be very soon our Kappang Highway colleagues will have to get back to Wanni and begin preparation to bring these crooks and villains to book. They should not be allowed to get away.

Circles close to the Man in the Eternal Hole have begun to feel that the end is near and that their position is hopeless. Some would love to flee if that be only possible. There are those who may even turn the guns on their own fighters if only Sarath Fonseka will enable such an opportunity. They do not want him to tarry any longer on the outskirts of Kilinochchi. They feel he should have done the deed he was asked to do much sooner.

However, the language of Wanni already is about Prabhakaran as the finished guy. And people rue thousands of lives have been lost because they believed in this man. Just like the elite Tamil politicians let down the Tamil community from the time of G G Ponnambalam, they feel the Tamil Diaspora too has done the same foul deed.

Sithamparapillai archi very appropriately told us that we Tamils of Sri Lanka do not want the Tamils from London, Canada or anywhere. “We will start life afresh and create a new generation once this evil is dispensed from us.” (Her language was much stronger!). She is past her eightieth birthday and has hope in herself and the people around her. She said her father told her that she was born the year Mahatma Gandhi visited Jaffna and that must have been in 1927.

Every day left in her life is doubly precious to the people of Wanni. This is an oldie who has hardly had any formal education. And the so-called educated and the professionals only armed the guy of terror and caused much devastation to our people.
