“Govt. trying to subvert investigations is the worst insult to a War hero”

(October 09, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Palitha Range Bandara , UNP M.P. addressing the media today (9 Oct) stated that the Govt. after harassing Late Janaka Perera without giving him adequate security while living which led to his tragic death , and then disgracing him and his wife even after death by disallowing the corteges to be flown to Anuradhapura, is now moving heaven and earth to subvert the investigations into their deaths. There are reports that the Police officers who were conducting the initial investigations have been transferred because they had exposed the Police falsehoods.

Although the Police stated that there was no request for police protection for the Janaka’s fatal meeting, the investigating officers who were impartial enough declared the truth that there had indeed been a request according to official records.

These officers who exposed this have immediately been taken off the investigations. Obviously, somebody in the top hierarchy of the Govt. is manipulating the inquiry, he observed.
What is this Govt. trying to accomplish by these actions? He asked.
