(October 24, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama never fails to say: ‘here in Sri Lanka there is no ethnic conflict but it is a war against separatism.’ The pure rhetoric of the Minister at a recent press conference here in Colombo went further when he said: ‘Forces are doing humanitarian work in the illegal Tiger controlling areas’. Okay! Okay!! Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama… if this is so… Can we now say there is no ethnic crisis here in this country and it is simply a humanitarian situation?
Why these cock a doodles now Mr Bogollagama? Is it another prelude to extract some money to extend your world wide tour to discuss these remarkable thoughts? One wonders how these newly invented unsolicited assertions are digested by his unqualified and inexperienced officials in the diplomatic service. Bogollagama’s garbage will be palatable kiribath and katta sambol for the nincompoops in the ever declining diplomatic service.
Minister Bogollagama is a very selfish and an unfortunate man. He will go in the history for turning our diplomatic service similar to the oldest trade the world. An inhuman politician like Champika Ranawaka, espouses that Sri Lanka is a exclusive Buddhist state and call it Dharma Rajaya. His Dharma Rajaya, only believes in adharma towards the monitories to retain the violent hegemonic interests of the majority. But compared to Bogallagama, Champika is an honest person, who speaks his mind truthfully. Bogollogama’s opportunism is aimed to achieve good paggars (kick backs) and is really a boru show to fill his purse.

The actual cost for the state for the upkeep of this boru show is said to be a staggering Rs. 700,000 per day. Why does he have to travel overseas round the clock to put his boru show? Why can’t be here and find ways to talk to the LTTE to end the war peacefully? His conscious will say no! no!! No!!! It is all his shameless mindset like the infamous Labour Minister Mervyn Silva- the musketeer in the Rajapakse government.
What Sri Lanka needs is a genuine and healthy diplomatic service spearheaded like the impeccable late Hon. Laxman Kadirgamar. Unfortunately, the diplomatic service has become business the paradise of the pandankaraya’s, wasting the states precious resources. It is not wrong to say this clean suit minister is betraying the country's diplomatic service. The process of recruitment to foreign services is not genuine. People with family ties and hero worshippers have taken on high level positions in the diplomatic service. Now these planted nincompoops in the diplomatic service are propagating that there no ethnic crisis and the situation is only humanitarian. These selfish pandangkarayas of the Foreign Minister are shamelessly thriving over the blood of innocent soldiers.
Yes… Minister! Unfortunately according to you, there no ethnic crisis. You will only understand that there is a serious ethnic crisis only when you leave your corrupt paggar politics. This will happen when there won’t be state money to dry clean your suits in the five star hotels.
