LTTE money collecting in Canada

(September 08, Toronto, Sri Lanka Guardian) The present money collection campaign by Tamil Rehabilitation Organization ( TRO ) a suspected LTTE front for the displaced Tamil people in the North Of Srilanka is going on in full swing by the suspected L.T.T.E front Organization the T.R.O in Toronto-Canada.

According to the Statement released by the Forum of Srilankans , “ we wanted to bring to the notice of all Canadians especially the Canadian Tamils, that TRO is a banned Organization in Srilanka and any money collected by the TRO cannot be sent legally into Srilanka. Further more any money that sent to Srilanka illegally is monitored by Canadian Authorities and Law enforcement agencies throughout the world particularly when it comes to any Organization which is related to Terrorist Organization such as L.T.T.E. In any case if the Canadian authorities want to check how these funds are collected and from which source, probably many of the people who donates might land in trouble.”

The Forum advise and request the people to carefully examine that their hard earned money they donates to TRO should not land in the hands of Terrorist Organization which is banned in Canada and most part of the world. It is unlawful to donate money to a banned Organization which is proscribed as a Terrorist Organization in Canada. Though TRO is still not banned in Canada unlike America and expected to be banned very soon.

“We also wants to bring to the kind attention of Canadian Tamils that these funds collected by TRO do not not end in the hands of the Tamil people in Srilanka but to the coffin of L.T.T.E and for their own operatives abroad to have a luxurious life and to buy properties for their own families to enjoy life. At the same time a valuable question is raised by the Eastern Province people at this time, that why did TRO never called for a same donations when Eastern People were displaced?. Is TRO only for Northern Tamil people? If so, Do L.T.T.E and their front Organizations has have the legitimate right to say they fight for all Tamils ? What about the Tamil speaking Muslim community displaced by its own Tamil speaking L.T.T.E ? Has at any time TRO done such a campaign for Tamil Muslims or it has at least visited their refugee camps ? It can be very well understood by the behaviours of TRO that it acts according to its L.T.T.E masters. If not what ? Therefore our Dear Tamil Brothers and Sisters let not your ignorance utilized by Cunning Tigers. Dear Canadians Let not your kind heart and generosity be misused.”

“We the Governing body of the Forum of Srilankans, Thank the United Nations for requesting the L.T.T.E to give a safe passage to Tamil civilians. We also request the European Union and all Democratically Elected Governments to pressure the L.T.T.E regime to safe guard the rights of Tamil people and give them safe access to move from war zone and let them go freely to Government controlled areas to save their lives.’

“We also request the International Community and the Diasporas to pressure LTTE regime not to use innocent Tamil civilians as human shield to protect their leadership from Government attacks. Most of all we request the LTTE front Organizations which is keen is collecting funds, to keep the Tamil population safety first in mind and to make use of their influence with their parent body to release the people from Wanni jungle areas to have a smooth passage from war zone. If so, that will be the greatest duty to their community.”
