“Israeli stretegy of evacuating Palestine territories to construct fresh settements for jews has resulterd in conntinued genocie of the Palestinins an ddestruction of their properties. (September 13, New Delhi, Sri Lanka Guardian) India occupied Kashmir in 1947 and militarized it by taking away a lot land for military and other activities and now it wants to annex some more land exclusively for Hinduism purposes. Jews occupied Palestinian terrritories and establsihed Israel and went on rampage in Palestine killing Palesitnians, expanding its territories in a sustained manner and made law for the Palestinians to obey Israelis. Today, Israel decides what the Palestinians must and must not do. US-led West supports Israeli terrorism and genocide on Arab lands. (And, funnily, if not shamelessly, Arabs hesiatate to support the struggling Kashmiris and thereby betray their own cause of Palestine!)
Israeli aggression continues unabated in Palestine with regular killings and illegal land seizures and has annexed thousands of hectares of West Bank land beside the barrier it is building. That is Israel annexes lands of Palestinians, constructs settlements and again acquires lands form Palestine for boundary walls and the process has been on for decades. The land has been taken recently with the justification that it is needed to protect Israeli settlements.
Some settlements have seized up to two and a half times more land than they have been designated by fencing it off or through intimidation. Under international law the settlements in the West Bank are illegal. A rightist group B’tselem calculates that the annexation of the land has more than doubled the size of the settlements, with Palestinians, who still own the land, denied access. It says that the unofficial closing off of land to Palestinians, around these settlements, has been going on for 30 years.
This is disputed by Israel, which has settled about 450,000 people in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israel argues that its West Bank barrier is a security measure intended to stop suicide bombers, though Palestinians see the barrier as a means to grab land. The International Court of Justice issued an advisory ruling in 2004 that the barrier breached international law where it is built on occupied territory and should be dismantled. B’tselem insists that the security argument is specious: they say that settlers often move into the designated security buffer zones. They also argue that it makes the agreed goal of a future Palestinian state all the more difficult to reach.
Illegal Expulsions of Palestinians
Israel has another policy in connivance with Washington approval bodies. It expels Palestinians form West Bank and deports them to Gaza and clear lands for further expansion of its “settlement empire” in Palestine. But what has been happening more recently is the Israeli military formalizing the expansion of these settlements through what are called "special security areas". The rightist group has calculated that this has more than doubled the overall area of the settlements.
Israeli stretegy of evacuating Palestine territories to construct fresh settements for jews has resulterd in conntinued genocie of the Palestinins an ddestruction of their properties. Palestinians, despite privately owning half the land, now have no access to it. The Israeli authorities argue that these measures are for security, to protect against Palestinian attacks, and that they need only be temporary. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement to the BBC that the security zones were needed to protect settlements. The IDF said the use of these zones had been approved a number of times by the Israeli Supreme Court and any building in them was illegal.
According to the “land clearance” strategy, the Israeli military has stepped up efforts to expel Palestinians with "illegal status" from the West Bank to Gaza. Two Israeli rights group. sHamoked and B'tselem have accused their government of tearing Palestinian families apart by curtailing the right to live in the West Bank. The groups say that over the past year, the military "has taken active measures to locate and expel Palestinians from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip under the pretext that they are 'illegal aliens'". B'tselem said several thousand Palestinians had been affected by the policy since November 2007.
Permit Regime for Inhabitants
Israel has instituted a permit policy requiring Palestinians from Gaza who are living in the West Bank to apply for a temporary three-month permit to stay there. Israel says Palestinians wishing to enter Gaza must undertake never to return to the West Bank, an effect of which has been to force relatives left behind to also move to Gaza "with no possibility of returning to the West Bank". Israel is clearly exploiting the hardship of families which are split between the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This is devastatingly atrocious because, even if the Palestinians have lived in the West Bank for many years, established their homes there and, in some cases, even if they were born in the West Bank, they need to acquire permit to move about.
Israel has very cunningly introduced permit system on Palestine land. The groups say marriage between Palestinians in Gaza and from the West Bank is no guarantee for obtaining a permit. The new permit regime is an unprecedented, legally baseless move by which Israel is turning Palestinian residents of the Occupied Palestinian Territories into 'illegal aliens' in their own homes. Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Andy David said the failure of the Palestinian Hamas movement to recognize past peace accords with Israel was the "real reason" for restrictions on movement between the West Bank and Gaza.
USA and India might call this Israeli imperialism as democracy and secularism and rule of law, but the broader world cannot approve of this kind of expansionism, terrorism and imperialism.
Palestine
Today, Palestine may refer to the State of Palestine proposed by the Palestinian National Authority. But Palestine is a name which has been widely used since Roman times to refer to the region between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. The name and the borders of Palestine have varied throughout history, though Palestine has certain natural boundaries that justify its historical individuality. In the broad geographical sense, Palestine refers to an area that includes contemporary Israel and the Palestinian territories, parts of Jordan, and parts of Lebanon and Syria.[ In the narrow sense, it refers to the area within the boundaries of the former British Mandate of Palestine (1920-1948) west of the Jordan River. Various declarations, such as the 15 November 1988 proclamation of a State of Palestine by the PLO referred to a country called Palestine, defining its borders based on the U.N. Resolution 242 and 383 and the principle of land for peace.
Jews in connivance with British ruelrs had a hidden agenda of establishing an indpendent Israel on Palestine land. On 29 November 1947, the UN General Assembly, with a two-thirds majority international vote, passed the United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine (United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181), a plan to resolve the Arab-Jewish conflict by partitioning the territory into separate Jewish and Arab states, with the Greater Jerusalem area (encompassing Bethlehem) coming under international control. Jewish leaders (including the Jewish Agency), accepted their portion of the plan, while Palestinian Arab leaders rejected it and refused to negotiate.
Neighboring Arab and Muslim states also rejected the partition plan. As armed skirmishes between Arab and Jewish paramilitary forces in Palestine continued, the British mandate ended on May 15, 1948, the establishment of the State of Israel having been proclaimed the day before Consequently, the partition plan was never implemented. With the establishment of Israel, the remaining lands were divided amongst Egypt, Syria and Jordan. The Arab governments at this point refused to set up a State of Palestine.
Since then on Israel contineud to expand its illegal terrirotories by annexing alnds from Palestine. In the West Bank, 360,000 Israeli settlers live in a hundred scattered settlements with connecting corridors. The 2.5 million West Bank Palestinians live in four blocs centered in Hebron, Ramallah, Nablus, and Jericho. In 2005, all the Israeli settlers were evacuated from the Gaza Strip in keeping with Ariel Sharon’s plan for unilateral disengagement, and control over the area was transferred to the Palestinian Authority.
An Observation
The point is there has been Western consipiracy aganst the Palestinians. With the support form the West, Jews invaded Palestine and annexed their lands and with the help of UN and UK-USA combine they established a state for themselves, Israel. Since then, Israel went on expanding its territories by annexing more and more Palestinian territories. Apart from killing and crating blockades, Israel has also set up crossings under the control of the Israeli terror forces. Israel controls literally every thing in Palestine, its lands, economy, taxes, security and even the lives of innocent Palestinians. They have introduced permit regime to control the Palestinians and torture them perpetually.
Every thing has been happening under the “able” US guidance and according to its terror scheming. It is rumored that USA has been creating a new Middle East by enacting regime changes with "democracy and rule of law" as the main pillars of modern world. Thousands of Muslims have been murdered by US-led terror forces so far and its strategic partners like India and Israel have added a few more thousands since Sept 11.- Sri Lanka Guardian
