SLDF in crisis talks

(August 02, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) Three members of the UK based Sri Lanka Democratic Forum (SLDF) have flown to Canada yesterday said to be called by their funding counterparts in USA and Canada to answer the media revelation about the burglary at the Tamil Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) based in Rayners Lane, London involving the SLDF members and the LTTE.

According to information reaching the media, three member team consisting of Mrs Nirmala Nithyananthan, her husband Ragavan and Dr Bala have flown to Canada for emergency talks. According to sources, US based SLDF is the funder of its UK operations.

Following publication of SDLF’s involvement in the burglary at TBC, further worrying stories is emerging about their activities. Some sources claim SLDF’s activists in the UK are directly involved with the LTTE and they are managing one of its rudimentary gutter website from London. The website originally run by Nadarajah Sethurupan which publishes disgusting portrayals about some leading anti-LTTE activists is said to be taken over by the SLDF members some months ago.

An independent source monitoring this website said ‘such claim is plausible as the website had not published any vulgar news about the SLDF members who are carrying out anti-LTTE campaign like the others who have been systematically and specifically targeted’. The independent source questioned the modus operandi of the SLDF’s activities in the UK and said it is time that responsible men in the SLDF in Canada do something to deal with the situation from deteriorating further.

Sources close to the TBC confirmed that Metropolitan Police are looking into further evidence about the burglary published in the media.
