(August 08, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) The well known Tamil cinema music director in Tamil Nadu (India) A R Rahuman’s UK agent Kanapathipillai Vinayagamoorthy alias Moorthy has been admitted to the North London based Hillingdon Hospital with severe facial and body injuries. Moorthy is said to enjoy the privilege of his association with A R Rahman and said to provide extensive financial support to the music director. A R Rahman is said to stay with Moorthy when he visits London.
According to many sources Moorthy has used his association with A R Rahuman and cheated many vulnerable Tamil people promising rewarding returns for the money taken from them. Thousands of sterling pounds have been taken from people which are never returned to them.
Moorthy currently living Briarwood Drive, Northwood in the North London does not have a fixed abode. He is said to run a Tamil music shop in his wife’s name in Rayners Lane. According to sources close to the owners of the shop, the place has seen rowdy incidences and some of the victims of Moorthy had gone in search of him there.
The family members had confirmed that Moorthy had fallen in the house and had sustained serious injuries. But one of his friends who had visited him in the hospital said that ‘injuries are indicate that Moorthy had been manhandled’.
According to some of the victims, County Court judgments have been entered against Moorthy for the sums he owed. He is also said to be in loggerhead with his landlord and sources say the situation has become acrimonious.
Well known sources close to Moorthy confirmed that he is a regular visitor to Tamil Nadu and well looked after by A R Rahman there.
