(August 24, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Kalawana electorate in the Ratnapura district has been won by the UPFA by 6,689 votes.

The UPFA recorded 22,348 (57.10) votes followed by the UNP 15,659 (40.01) votes and the JVP 783 (2.00) votes.

In the electorate of the 55,683 registered voters 40,926 had polled. - Sri Lanka Guardian
