(August 08, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The crimes that are being committed in the Eastern Province are being carried out not by tiger organization but by Pillayan's group suspect masses in the province.
The Easterners say the killing of a police officer at Batticaloa on the 5th and the claymore attack at Thoppigala on the 6th confirm their suspicions.
They point out that Pillayan's group is on a move to take revenge from those who were an obstacle for them at the PC election. They say releasing about a month ago of a group that murdered a police officer at Vavnathivu on the orders of Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse raises doubts.
Meanwhile, both Shivanethathurei Chnadrasdekaran alias Pillayan and pro-LTTE leader of the UPF , P. Chandrasekaran have found their way to hold secret talks with different agendas on last Sunday night at TMVP’s political office in Colombo.
Sri Lanka Guardian contacted senior member of the TMVP but he was refused leave a comment on the meeting.
