Indian Politics: Why Did Hindu Al-Qaeda activists Invade Taj Mahal?

(August 15, New Delhi, Sri Lanka Guardian) No introduction is required now for any onlooker on Indian scene about how Muslims are treated in India and Kashmir and how much love Indians have for fellow Muslim citizens in and around India. Demolition of Grand Babri Mosque in 2002 clearly showcases Indian anti-secular mindset. It has come to light that with the help of a few self-styled Muslims leaders from political markets, India is pushing ahead with its hidden agenda of keeping Muslims under duress and criminal pressure.

India sends Hindu extremists to Mosques

Mosques are meant for praying in Islamic ways. Only Muslims are allowed in Mosques. But it has over decades become a fancy for Muslim leaders play second-fiddle to permission of Indian governments to allow others into mosques to prove the "secular credentials" of Muslims. Muslims leaders, who get benefits from the ruling dispensations for themselves and their family members, might feel gratified when dirty legs inter the holy prayer halls of Muslims, but that is immoral, unfair and illegal.

Taking enough clues from these nefarious anti-Islamic activities in Delhi Jama Mosque and Hyderabad Mecca mosque with state encouragement, several Hindu communal forces enter the mosques for fulfilling their notorious designs. Many Hindutva militant gangs are bent upon destroying mosques, hoisting their dirty flags over mosques and occupying mosques. Judiciary in the country is not at all aware of this even though lawyers and judges watch the shows day in and day out.

Arrogance in Indian policies is not a secret, but that has reached a stage when Muslims can be killed and tortured and Islamic cultural heritages could be insulted in India. What is happening in Kashmir now is the result of Indian anti-Muslim and fascist and colonial mindset.

Taj Saffron Invasion

Recently, a group of 10 Hindutva activists-cum-militants belonging to Shiva Sean, a core rightist political outfit sneaked into the Taj Mahal at Agra on July 24 and performed prayers (puma) within the precincts on Thursday. They were taken into custody and later released without any hurdles.

The Hindu Shiv Sena activists, including three women, bought tickets and entered one by one into the Taj Mahal in the afternoon. They performed some kind of puja and 'parikrama' (circling of the monument) of the main edifice/ structure with folded hands. Crowd enjoyed, including the security personnel posted there. After a while they were forced to stop the ritual when some people brought the matter to the” knowledge, of the security personnel, who in the first place allowed them to enter and even noticed them wearing saffron scarves. A minor scuffle ensued after which the police took them to the Taj Ganj Police station.

This is a routine matter for Indian governments when Hindus perform illegal activities. Had Muslims enter the temples and remove the idols and clean up the structure to be able to offer prayers to God, the matter would be different.

Hindu outfits, who consider themselves above law and have every right to do any thing they please with Muslims and mosques, have been on the rampage of the people’s mind for political reasons with concocted stories against Islam. The latest story or discovery of Hindu extremists and their researchers led by Shiv Sena, claims the 17th century monument is actually a Shiva temple, had announced earlier that they would perform puja and aarti on every Monday during the Hindu month of “Shravan”, considered auspicious for the worship of Shiva. On Monday, they had been prevented from entering the Taj premises. They later performed the “rituals” at the Taj corridor.

Shiv Sena chief in Agra said they had gone there as ordinary citizens of India and felt like praying. "So, what's wrong with that," he asked. Archaeological Society of India's in-charge of the Taj Mahal said some to confuse the public with irrelevant things: "They came in a group as ordinary citizens and purchased tickets. We were with them all the time along with the Taj Ganj police station in charge. With folded hands they went towards the mosque and went back. How could we have prevented their entry as they did nothing objectionable? "I don't know why such a hullabaloo is being made about it. They told me their program is for Mondays and had come today just to see the Taj Mahal."

As a Hindu extremist organization thriving on anti-Islamic and anti-Minority sentiments, Siva Sena’s activities, like any other extremist religious groups, are supposed to be under scrutiny by the governments, but this incident is like wise known t the authorities but allowed the Hindus do their prayers (puja) inside the Taj Mahal. Worshipping Mogul Emperor and his beloved wife is not forbidden, but such things are better carried out at home or in parks, not in a Muslim Mosque compound, which houses Taj as well.

In India Hindus can do any thing they want and the courts should support them. They can kill Muslims, insult them defame Islam, destroy mosques, put their dirty flags over the tombs of the mosques and play prayers in Taj Mahal. Enough of nonsense is really enough for this nation splitting people along religious and fundamentalist lines. It is high time Indian judiciary step in to clear up the Hindutva mess the rulers over decades have created in appeasing the majority population. Only Muslims are entitled to enter a mosque, others can enjoy the beauty of the "building" from outside. Letting fanatic and militant and notorious elements in to Mosques, for whatever reasons, causes problems of security.

Mosques are not playground for Hindu militant. The illegal, immoral activities of the Taj intruders should be punished. What they did inside the historical Taj Mahal, one of the world wonders, amounts to an anti-national, anti-Islamic and terrorist act.

India trains the Hindu Militants

Even as India keeps blaming Pakistan of training freedom fighting Kashmiris, it also trains the Hindu militants and Kashmiri Muslims. With this Indian strategists have decided to kill Kashmiris directly by Hindus themselves, leading a civil war in Jammu Kashmir. The great idea behind this new scheme is to delay the grant of independence to Jammu Kashmir.

As if state terrorist forces are not enough to kill the Kashmiri Muslims, now the UPA government of India and the JK government under Governor’s rule have embarked upon a massive training of Hindu militants in Jammu region to fight the so-called Muslim “terrorists”, which only means Kashmir Muslims, who still demand sovereignty back from the occupying terror forces of India.

After establishing Village Defense Committees (VDC) and handing people with modern weaponry in hilly areas of Jammu province to fight “militancy”, Indian terror security agencies is now establishing Self Defence Committees (SDC) in all the hilly villages of Jammu . The SDCs would be like VDCs but every member of SDC is given AK-47 rifle and other heavy weaponry to use against anybody without any accountability. The SDCs consist of 15 volunteers from every village who are being registered with police department before handing over rifles and other ammunition to them.

Thus, Sarankote Police Station in Poonch district has been converted into a nodal office for registering SDCs and people are being informed about SDCs through public address system and many SDCs have already been registered. “The people who are being registered as members of SDCs are mostly illiterate and there is every possibility that these people can misuse the weapons for their personal grudges or animosities. This can result in civil war in the area,” an elderly inhabitant of Poonch said.

People express apprehension about the tacit policy of police to empower villagers with weapons in these hilly areas when there is already heavy presence of army, paramilitary forces and police. “To give people weapons like this will derail the centuries existing peace, tranquility and brotherhood in the area,” locals said. KNS quoted a police officer as saying that the SDC members would be given special weapons first and training later.

Meanwhile, empowering people with weapons in the hilly areas of Jammu province has anguished the Muslim populace in these areas, who feel threatened as police is handing over the weapons only to the members of Hindu community.

Yet, the moot question remains: why should India train extra Hindus when it has surplus terror military forces, charged with the “patriotic” task of killing the Kashmiris and when they have been doing the "job" pretty well over decades as heavy militarization of Jammu Kashmir by India, killing thousands of innocent Kashmiris?

India is said to be a multi-faceted nation with flourishing multi-culturalism, democracy, secularism all in one and what not, but in reality it expects Muslims and other minorities to make way for Hindu onward march in every field, because Hindus alone are entitled to every thing in India. And the governments in the country promote that thinking and go all out to make their thinking come true. Thus the Hindus decide everything and secure every thing in India for themselves. Not only have they enjoyed all benefits of progress and development all by themselves leaving nothing to Muslims, except insults, injury and jails. They even don't realize that in a "democracy" they take away the even the portion of benefits that legitimately belong to Muslims.

A Word

Indian terror forces should vacate Jammu Kashmir and Indian government should rebuild the grand Babri Mosque and non-Muslims should be disallowed to enter mosques under any circumstances. Indian media magnets should not behave as brutally as the military forces that kill Kashmiris, but be kind to Muslim brethern and portray reality in a neutral manner, if not in favor of minority Muslims. They should, for instance, stop writing anti-Kashmiri and anti-Muslim stuff and publish photos of those Muslms who get killed in (fake) encoutnres in Jammu Kashmir and elsewhere in the same fashion as do in the case of the Hindus.

This write up has focused on Indian majority chauvinistic activities in the sphere of religion, defaming cultural heritage of Muslims, destroying the plight of Kashmiris and also the hidden agenda of occupying forces in Jammu Kashmir. Government of India, state governments, honorable courts, and the media lords should shed their anti-Muslim mindset and look at Muslims are legitimate citizens of India with all rights.

Besides thier ownshares, the Hindus are also enjoying what legitimately belongs to Muslims, in all respects, jobs, education, loans and other assistances guaranteed by UN, Indian constitution and Nehru. Hindus cannot have more privileges and rights than Muslims. They cannot do any thing they please with Muslims, mosques and their cultural heritages.
