Govt. mislead the Sinhala people to destroy Tamils - Suresh Premachandran, M.P

(August 26, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian ) “The government has gained the support of people in the North Central and Sabbragamuwa provincial elections, by spreading racial issues and instigating the Sinhalese chauvinist to destroy Tamils. The government has mislead the Sinhala people, that after the capture of Kilinochchi and Mullaitheevu areas, the war would be over, whereas only after war there would be tremendous catastrophe, which the majority people are unaware.” Suresh Premachandran, Tamil National Alliance Member of Parliament for Jaffna District said yesterday in a statement.

The minimum victory gained from the recent election, cannot sustain for prolonged victory, till a political solution occur. Peace would be only by political solution in this country, he said.

He further stated that, during the past there were many historical happenings of many blunders performed by the Sinhala political Chauvinist. Such Sinhala political leaders’ eagerness was to forcibly insert into the minds of Sinhala people, the racial feelings and create a situation where both races cannot unit together, of which they established their political power in the midst of Sinhalese masses.

Many are aware that government is using the media for their political propaganda. But that government media does not speak about the hardships faced by the Tamil people. Millions of Tamil peoples have lost their belongings and properties, displaced and are deprived of basic requirements, which are not brought to the attention of the Sinhalese people by these government sponsored medias, Suresh Premachandran stated.
