(August 22, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Do not allow anybody to pillage your right of franchise or plunder your vote, urged Tissa Attanayake, the Gen. Secretary of the UNP. Every voter has the liberty and right to exercise one’s franchise according to one’s wishes and with freedom, irrespective of what party one belongs, emphasized Tissa Attanayake.
This Govt. which is beleaguered and bankrupt, is stooping to the lowest levels and is prepared to descend to any act of lawlessness including plunder of the people’s votes exploiting its powers, warned Mr. Attanayake.
While stating it is the duty of every citizen to act with caution and take every step to protect their voting rights, Attanayake, requested all patriotic Forces and Organisations to unite towards achieving this end.
