(July 06, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) PMK founder S Ramadoss urged Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi to find a permanent solution to the problems faced by Tamil Nadu fishermen in the hands of Sri Lankan Navy.

In a statement, Dr. Ramadoss said writing letters to the Centre whenever the fishermen got attacked in mid-sea had become a ‘mere ritual’ for the successive governments.

The situation had not improved even after the CM had brought to the notice of the Union government about the miseries of Tamil Nadu fishermen. Instead, the situation had worsened further during the past week.

The PMK chief said the time had come for putting a full stop to the atrocities of Lankan Navy. Besides, the Indo-Lanka agreement signed in 1974 and 1976 gifting Katchatheevu should be cancelled and India should take back the island.

Meanwhile, VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan asserted that the Lankan Tamil refugees are not foreigners. He was addressing protest meeting in the city against the Government's move to prevent Tamil refugees from owning a piece of land in India.
