Child made to glorify terrorism

(July 17, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) In a catalogue of violations of the Terrorism Act in the UK, photographs posted in the LTTE website tamilnet confirms even under aged children were not spared when the LTTE celebrated Pongu Thamil in London on 12 July 2008.

Photograph published in the tamilnet confirmed a child wearing coat depicting the proscribed LTTE’s logo. Glorifying terrorism is an offence under the Terrorism Act and the activists of the LTTE did enjoy exemption from impunity over their conduct.

The child in the picture has specially shaved his head to depict something which is unreadable.

When the violation of the child was raised with a LTTE sympathiser he said ‘we have all the support from the British parliamentarians. No one can do anything to us’.

LTTE’s struggle is based on child recruitment and this culture is now being spread in the Tamil diaspora. One LTTE sympathiser said ‘we are not Muslims and the British authorities will not harm our cause like going after the Muslims’.
