Trains services resumed on coastal line (Updated)

(May 26, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Train services along the coastal line resumed a few minutes ago but will be limited to two way traffic on a single line resulting in delays.

The coastal line train services was temporarily suspended due to bomb blast in the Train on today evening for lass than two hours.

At least eight passengers including pregnant mother were killed and over 60 people were injured when a bomb ripped through a compartment of a passenger train at Dehiwala at 5.02p.m. on Monday, Police Spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekara confirms our previous report.

He said among those killed were four women.

The train was heading to Panadura from Colombo when the explosion went off as the train was leaving the Dehiwala railway station.

The explosion had gone off in the forth compartment of the train while other compartments had not been damaged in the blast, initial reports said
