TMVP spokesman Azad Moulana told the Media that the nominee is none other, he is the TMVP steering man Sivanesanthurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan. Anyway, he did not want to reveal details about their plans and preparations for tomorrow.
Unofficial sources said that Pillayan has got the most number of preferential votes for the UPFA in Batticaloa with 41, 936 votes. Meanwhile, UPFA General Secretary, Minister Susil Premajayantha had told the media that the party does not hesitate to appoint the person who secured most number of preferential votes in the elections as the Chief Minister.
Pillayan led UPFA in the Batticaloa district won all three electorates in the district with a majority of 46,739 votes. Sources also said that in Batticaloa J. S Mohomad came second with 36,419 votes and M.L.A.M Hisbullah came third with 35,949 votes.
