(May 30, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena speaking to the Media on today morning (30May), said , if the President and this largest cabinet of Ministers make use of a fraction of the people’s monies they are spending on their wastages, wasteful foreign tours and stop corruption in their sectors ,these fuel price hikes and other price hikes would not be necessary.
There isn’t a single area where this Govt. has spared the people from imposing hardships and burdens. From the child’s education, people’s health to a person’s single meal, it has muddled up.
There are no drugs for patients in Hospitals, but, the Health Minister wastes millions of rupees for self glorification on banners, cutouts and posters just to publicise that he has been elected as the WHO head. Of what avail is this to the Health sector which is incurably sick due to this very Minister’s inefficiency and indifference to the patients ‘problems? He asked. Whether he is the Head or tail of the WHO is immaterial if these titles cannot improve him on his efficiency, he concluded.

Typical Jayalath comments on petrol prices. He must have forgotton that during 16 years of UNP regime how many times and how much petrol prices were increased. If we apply the same Jayalath theory then why did the UNP increased the prices?
I agree with the wastage of this government and all previous governments since 1970. When will our politicians learn? Has Jayalath refused any of his increased benefits as an MP? When you are in the opposition you all say and do the same thing.
I live in Australia and here in Australia everything including food, transport, goods and labour costs have gone over 50% since these increases in petrol over the last 6 months.
So Please Jayalath don't try to con the people all the time. It is much better to be honest and have a good leader and a strong opposition to defeat this corrupted government, otherwise as long as you keep the biggest loser in the whole world as your leader, this government and future governments will survive and prosper in corruption.
