(April 04, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) On the invitation of Rohitha Bogollagama, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zhong Shan, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province will lead a delegation to Sri Lanka from 17th – 19th April 2008.
During the said visit the Vice Governor of Zhejiang is scheduled to call on Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion and the Minister of Export Development and International Trade.
Zhejiang with a population of 46.47 million is located in the southern part of the Yangtze River Delta on the southeast coast of China. It borders Shanghai, the country’s largest city, on the northeast, Hangzhou is the provincial capital.
Zhejiang, one of the provinces with the fastest economic growth in China has an annual growth rate of provincial GDP above 9%, by end 2007, the economic aggregate exceeded RMBY 1000 billion, fiscal revenue was over RMB Y 150 billion and the per capita GDP was US $ 3000.
The delegation will comprise of Mr. Zeng Haoming, Vice Head/Department of Information Industry, Mr. Peng Ba, Vice Director/Foreign Affairs Office, Mr. Chen Rufang, Vice Head/Foreign Economy and Trade, Mr. Zhang Geng, Head/Bingjiang District, Mr. Zhu Jun, Head/Zhejiang People’s Government (General Office) and Ms. Yang Jing, Interpreter.
