Ministerial hooliganism on the rampage again!

(April 16, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The raging lawlessness prevailing in the country was again demonstrated during the weekend when a retired Army General allegedly was brutally assaulted by Minister Aluthgamage and his guards. His cash, Rs.300, 000/-which was in his possession at the time of assault has also been robbed, he accuses.

According to the General, Athula Ratnayake who had served in the army for 40 years! And a former SLFP organizer of the Mahiyangana electorate said, the assault was triggered because he could not give way to the Minister‘s convoy following his vehicle. As the road was narrow he could not drive to a side to allow the Minister’s convoy to overtake.

Finally, when he did get the chance to give room, the Minister and the thugs stopped him and launched a merciless assault damaging even his vehicle.

Army Major is to file a fundamental rights petition case against the Minister and his security guards.
