(April 22, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Charity Commission ousted Chairman of Sivayogam Trust Emdon Seevaratnam was seen presiding over the Shree Muththumari Amman temple Chariot festival on April 19, 2008 in Tooting, South London. He was accompanied by the controversial LTTE activist in Tamil Nadu Pala Nedumaran.
Wearing holy red attire and presenting him like a semi swamy (Guru), the former head of the International Finance of the LTTE Emdon Seevaratnam was addressing the crowd holding the microphones of the LTTE front TV station Tharisanam.
Emdon Seevaratnam and the fellow Trustees were removed from the board of the Charity following Charity Commission intervention over their involvement with the LTTE.

Emdon Seevaratnam’s son Nimalan Seevaratnam alias Pukkaiyan too addressed the gathering at the temple. Despite Charity Commission intervention Emdon Seevaratnam and his family members who were former trustees of the Sivayogam Trust still have overall control of the temple management. The new Trustees of the temple are explicitly aligned to Emdon Seevaratnam. The temple manager is Emdon Seevaratnam’s brother Nagenthiram Karunanithy.

According to inquiries made at the Tooting temple of Sivayogam, seventy five years old Pala Nedumaran had arrived in the UK from France. He was detained by the immigration officials for three hours and allowed to enter the country after severe warning that he should not engage in political activities or make political speech during his stay. It is unclear how Nedumaran entered UK whilst entry refusal stamp was placed on his passport at the British High Commission in Chennai.
