Ellawanda Thero was involved in a luxury fashionable Benz car scandal where it was alleged that the duty free license issued to him for import of vehicle to be used in the service of the people was sold illegally.
The JHU who so vociferously and loudly claimed on political platforms that politicians are engaging in rackets , and they (JHU) are coming forward to establish a pure Dharma -rajya seem to be unable to escape those temptations going by their behaviour!. Perhaps, Lord Buddha did not take to politics, because he knew the dangers inherent in politics, and that it can transform even Priests to stoop to the political disgrace while doing lip service to Buddhism on public stages and in the open.

No wonder , the JHU Leader , once said even if a loaf of bread goes up to Rs. 100/- they don’t care . Is it obscene ostentation or callousness which prompted him to say that?

This country is born with Buddhist hyprocrits. If the Malwatte's and Asigiriya's are deaf and blind to killings, corruption, plundering of state assets by the ruling party what more do you expect from this country. Truly the Mahanayaka's are deaf and blinded by the government is obvious by the state patronage of Luxeries cars with curtains in its windows so they cannot see the poverty which is taking place in this country when they travel in those luxury cars. Their only job is to receive the Ministers and other dignitaries with loads of fruits and goodies while ignoring the common plight the people of this country. Uptodate they have not uttered a single word regarding the corruption and the violence taking place in this country. If the highest order shows ignorance to the common plight in this country, so what can you expect from the JHU's and JVP as worst culprits for not practicing on what they preach.
Who care's, true 100 bucks for bread who cares. Even Mahanayake's wont know if the bread is 100 bucks. Because they travel Luxuries cars with curtains in the windows so they cannot see the common man begging in the street. Their job is to receive corrupt Ministers carrying loads of fruits and goodies falling in their feets asking for their blessing to rob and plunder more from this country. Do these Mahanayake speak against the corruption, violence, plundering of state asset and the most important current issues such as cost of living. They dont know the hard way of life as they pampered by the government so they keep their mouth shut from losing the luxury benefits they get from the tax payers money. So why should we blame the JHU if the highest order in the Buddhist clergy ignores the basic issues in this country and its people they are suppose be the majority followers.
the mahanayakes them saelves are thieves owning busses and doing other business. the monk in handala temple has more than 10 buses to his name what can we expect of the beggers in JHU we the sinhala fools who voted them JR constitution and SWRD sinhala policy are the ones to be cursed
