Another LTTE front to hold major fund raising event

(April 15, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) The newly formed LTTE front Tamil Health Organisation-United Kingdom (THO-UK) is holding a major fund raising sports festival in the in London on April 20, 2008. THO-UK is an organisation is now conducting the business of the now defunct LTTE front MIOT (Medical Institute of Tamils).

THO-UK members provide medical service to the LTTE administration and plays important role to generate income for the UK proscribed group to extend the war in Sri Lanka. The news about the Sports Event published in the LTTE front websites confirm that ‘All proceeds will go towards go towards the “EMERGRNCY MEDICAL FUND’ without specifying where it we applied.

In the UK, National Health Service and private medical insurers are said to provide medical cover for its citizens and there is no need for any emergency fund for Tamils domiciled in the country from such emergency funds.

Concerned Tamils are saying that the LTTE is forming all sorts of new organisations to raise funds for its activities to bypass the proscription law prohibiting it to operate in the UK.
